The September 2027 thresholds are not yet published, a grammar assessment does not guarantee a school place, and each school applies its own admissions criteria when oversubscribed.

Score policy

Optional test has computer verbal/numerical/non-verbal reasoning and English writing; pass level is cohort-dependent and anticipated around top 25% nationally, not a fixed cutoff.

These postcode districts apply only to the Pupil Premium priority category. They are not a general Year 7 eligibility catchment. Eligible girls outside these districts can apply under the other categories. Premium status and form requirements must also be met.

Girls must meet the Kent PESE standard or qualify through the optional Highsted procedure after participating in Kent PESE. Both routes use the same oversubscription order for the 150-place Year 7 intake. Named EHCP/statement admissions precede looked-after or previously looked-after children, including policy-defined overseas state-care/adoption cases; Pupil Premium girls living in ME9, ME10, ME11 or ME12; continuing sisters or brothers in the Sixth Form; then nearer homes. Premium means FSM registration in the past six years, excluding universal infant meals alone; care-status children use the earlier category. Siblings must live as siblings in the same house, including adopted, step and foster siblings. Distance is straight-line NLPG home-to-school address-point distance, with alternatives for unregistered properties. Otherwise equal eligibility for the last place uses a random numbered draw. The waiting list follows the criteria, is re-ranked when applicants join and ends on 31 December 2027. The premium paragraph requires a supplementary form by 31 January in the application year, but does not make that year clear, and the optional-test section says no SIF is required. Confirm the premium form and exact deadline with admissions; do not assume the test-registration form proves premium status. The common application must name the school. Optional-test registration is stated as 1 June to 30 June 2026, with evidenced exceptional late registration only to 22 July. The optional procedure's residency paragraph still mentions September 2025 despite the 2027 policy title, so confirm that stale wording with the school.

1. 1. English and mathematics paper

   Approximately one hour, with separate English and mathematics sections. Each section includes about five minutes of practice followed by about 25 minutes of test questions.

2. 2. Reasoning paper

   Approximately one hour including practice. It covers verbal reasoning and individually timed non-verbal and spatial-reasoning sections.

3. 3. Writing exercise

   A 40-minute writing exercise including 10 minutes of planning. It is not marked for the Kent Test score but can be considered by a headteacher assessment panel.
