Terms of Service

Effective date: July 14, 2026

Trace Learn is an online 11+ learning service provided by Just Understanding Data Ltd, company number 12472031. These terms apply to the adult who creates an account, manages a child profile, or uses Tutor Studio.

1. The service

Trace Learn provides diagnostic-led practice across Maths, English, verbal reasoning, and non-verbal reasoning. Features may include lessons, assignments, tests, printable answer sheets, progress views, reports, and educational game rewards.

The service supports 11+ preparation, but it does not guarantee admission, a particular score, or success in any school entrance process. Admissions rules and test formats vary, so you should also check the current information from the relevant school or local authority.

2. Adult accounts and child profiles

  • An adult must create and control each account and child profile.
  • Children use the learner area through an adult-managed username, avatar, and PIN.
  • You must provide accurate adult account and billing information.
  • You are responsible for deciding whether the service is suitable for each child you add.
  • Tutors must have an appropriate lawful basis and authority to add or manage student information.

3. Account security

Keep your password and learner PINs private. Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been accessed without permission. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless the activity results from our failure to use reasonable care and skill.

4. Free and paid pathways

  • Free: one learner diagnostic, with no payment card required.
  • Core: a monthly plan for one child with a 7-day free trial at the price shown on the pricing page.
  • Tutor Studio: a monthly plan for up to 50 active students with a 7-day free trial at the price shown on the pricing page.

Stripe processes paid subscriptions. We do not store full card details. You can cancel a monthly subscription before the next renewal through the available account controls or by contacting support. Cancellation stops future renewals and normally leaves paid access in place until the end of the current billing period. Nothing in these terms limits statutory cancellation or refund rights that apply to you.

If a price changes, we will give reasonable notice before the new price applies to a future renewal. You can cancel before that renewal.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Use the service unlawfully or in a way that harms a child or another person.
  • Try to access another account, student record, or restricted part of the service.
  • Probe, disrupt, overload, scrape, or bypass security controls.
  • Upload malware or use automated access that interferes with normal operation.
  • Copy, resell, or distribute substantial parts of the service or its learning content without permission.

6. Learning content and intellectual property

The service, software, design, and original learning content belong to Just Understanding Data Ltdor its licensors. Your subscription gives you a personal, limited right to use the service for learning or, for Tutor Studio, for the students you are authorised to manage. It does not transfer ownership of the service or its content.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available and accurate, but maintenance, security work, and technical failures can cause interruptions. We may improve, replace, or retire features. If a change materially reduces a paid service, we will provide reasonable notice where practical.

8. Suspension and closure

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend access where reasonably needed to protect children, users, data, payments, or the service, or where these terms are seriously or repeatedly breached. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and provide a way to contact us.

9. Responsibility and consumer rights

We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for admissions decisions made by third parties, or for failures caused by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including your statutory consumer rights.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Safeguarding page explain how we handle data and design the child experience.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the service or law changes. We will post the updated terms with a new effective date and give reasonable notice of material changes that affect paid users.

12. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you keep any mandatory rights available to you under local law. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
