  Two in-person multiple-choice papers, English and Maths, held by all six participating schools at the same time on Tuesday 15 September 2026; candidates are allocated a test centre.

  The two paper results are combined as a total score with no negative marking. Participating schools set their pass mark after marking; a pass is not an offer. Greenshaw uses the outcome for its ability places, while the five grammar schools use it to invite candidates to school-specific second-stage tests.

Boys must reach the WCGS combined qualifying standard from the Sutton SET and WCGS Second Stage Test, then name Wallington County Grammar School on the home local authority Common Application Form.

Score policy

Selective ability requires the combined qualifying standard from SET and the WCGS Second Stage Test. The total standardised score is two fifths SET and three fifths Second Stage Test.

Oversubscription

Eligible applicants are prioritised in order of EHCP, looked-after or previously looked-after children, permanent staff children, entrance-test rank up to an initial 110 places, up to 25 Pupil Premium places by rank, and up to 15 Sutton-postcode places by rank; straight-line distance and lots break ties.
