Eligibility

Boys applying for Year 7 must sit Boston Grammar School's 11+ selection tests and be placed within approximately the top 25% of the local cohort. Reaching the required standard makes a candidate eligible, but parents must also apply through their home local authority's coordinated admissions process.

Score policy

The selection-test results are ranked to identify approximately the top 25% of the local cohort, in line with the ability intake target across Lincolnshire grammar schools. The policy does not publish a fixed numeric qualifying score.

Oversubscription

After qualified children whose Education, Health and Care Plan names the school, priority is given to qualified looked-after and previously looked-after children, Pupil Premium children, siblings of pupils attending at the time of admission, then straight-line distance measured by Lincolnshire County Council. An unresolved tie is decided by an independently drawn lottery.
