Five letters can look trapped in the wrong word. Move just ONE letter, and suddenly a completely different word appears. The clever part is not guessing any word that fits the clue. You must follow the stated rule exactly, while keeping every supplied letter.
Here is the rule: move the first letter to the end. Watch HEART. The H lifts from the front, slides past E, A, R and T, then clicks into the final space. Nothing else swaps position. Read the result from left to right: E, A, R, T, H... EARTH. A transformation rule is a machine with one fixed instruction. Put in HEART, carry out that instruction once, and EARTH comes out. Do not add a helpful letter. Do not drop an awkward one. If five letters go in, the answer must contain those same five letters, once each. Your eyes can check the movement in two passes. First, cover the opening letter and read what remains. Second, place the covered letter after the final letter. Then blend the whole row into a real word. Rule first... word check second.
Let's work through an example. The rule says: move the first letter to the end. Apply that rule once to the word STALE. Which valid word do you make? Keep the letters in their given order, apart from the one movement named in the rule. Start by marking the first letter, S. Slide S away for a moment. The letters left behind are T, A, L, E, still in exactly that order. Now move the same S to the empty space at the end. The row becomes T, A, L, E, S. Blend those letters: TALES. That is a real word, and it uses every letter from STALE exactly once. So the explicit answer is TALES. A tempting invented answer might sound plausible, but it fails unless the letters and their order show the stated transformation.
Follow the rule, move what it names, and keep every letter. Then word transformations become quick, clear, and completely CHECKABLE. You've got this!
