A figure can jump across a mirror line without turning at all. But one tiny mark can expose a wrong answer... can you keep every part in the right place?

Watch this blue arrowhead beside a vertical mirror. Its point faces upwards, with a yellow dot near the lower-left corner and two stripes near the upper-right edge. Each part travels straight across the mirror line, to the same distance on the other side. The whole outline crosses. The point still faces upwards. Nothing rotates, and no colour or marking changes. Now track the details. The yellow dot moves from lower-left to lower-right. The two stripes move from upper-right to upper-left. Move EVERY marked part, not just the easiest one. Imagine each point meeting its matching point across the mirror.

Let's work through an example. A vertical mirror line stands to the right of an L-shaped tile. The tile has a black star in its top square, one diagonal slash in its bottom-left square, and an arrow on its right edge pointing downwards. Which of four figures is the exact reflection? First, reflect the outline. It appears on the right of the line, equally far away. The upright section of the L swaps from the left side to the right side. It has flipped sideways - it has NOT turned. Next, carry every mark across. The star stays in the top square. The slash moves from the bottom-left square to the bottom-right square. The edge arrow moves to the left edge, but it still points downwards. Reflection changes side, not attributes. Check the options. A keeps the slash on the left. B turns the arrow upwards. C loses the star. D shows the mirrored L, star, slash, and downward arrow in all the matching places. So the answer is D.

Remember: send the complete figure straight across the mirror, keep every point equally distant, and preserve each mark, colour, and direction. Track the outline, then ALL the details. You can spot the true reflection!
