Help your child use the answers

Choose a topic your child has already met at school. Print one question sheet and keep the answer pages separate. Let your child try it, then talk through one question they found difficult.

Several questions have more than one possible answer. On the statistics sheet, question 5 accepts Monday and Friday, or Tuesday and Wednesday: both pairs total ten books. On the geometry sheet, a square is also a rectangle.

Some questions extend the main topic, including reflection in a vertical line and reading angles written in degrees. Help your child discuss these if that notation is new. The pack is practice, not a diagnostic test or an 11+ score prediction.

The topics follow the DfE mathematics programme of study. These are Trace Learn's own practice questions. Schools can teach the topics in different orders.

Questions parents ask

What is in the Year 4 maths pack?

There are seven topic sheets, each with 12 numbered questions, a page of instructions and three pages of answers. Some questions have more than one part.

Are all questions expected to be easy in Year 4?

The sheets practise Year 4 topics, with some extension questions. Choose topics your child has been taught. Use a difficult question as a discussion prompt rather than an exam grade.

Can I print this for a class?

Yes. The pack is free to print and copy for home or classroom use, and no account is needed.
